Charity Bowl

HIV/AIDS Awareness Charity Bowl

Carl shares his mission that started The Charity Bowl…

“The Charity Bowl started out with a committment I made to a friend who passed away from HIV/AIDS and asked me to promise that I would never give up on my dream. I was in his hospital room during his last moments and watched the effects of this epidemic take a toll on his life.”

“From this experience, God placed in my heart a desire to help others who are affected with this disease. In 2004, the first Charity Bowl was launched as a way to provide outerwear (Hats, gloves, scarves) to children with HIV/AIDS to protect them from the elements during the winter months. The event raised enough donations to provide for the patients and their siblings at Newark Beth Israel Hospital.”
